- Fields of interest
- Mammalian Ecology, particularly the ecology of gliding mammals such as the Japanese giant flying squirrel Petaurista leucogenys and the Malayan flying lemur Cynocephalus variegatus. Also interested in the distribution and behavior of Japanese serow Capricornis crispus.
- Research and professional experience
- 1983-1991: Research Associate at the Division of Medical Zoology, Medical College of Oita, work on the ecology of black flies (Diptera: Simuliidae).
- 1992-2002: Researcher at the Kitakyushu Museum and Institute of Natural History in charge of mammalogy and mammalian specimens.
- 2002-present: Researcher at the Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History and Human History (continuation of the Kitakyushu Museum and Institute of Natural History). In charge of mammalogy and mammalian specimen.
