This exhibit focuses on the history of life on Earth. Especially the origin of life, extinction and evolution, and the sixth mass extinction caused by humans are described with various fossils and natural history specimens.
The Earth's various animals have equally various skeletal structures. Take a look!
The animals that live with humans have various characteristics and fill various roles in our lives.
This display describes the fossils of the Double-Armored Herring and the conditions of their discover. These fossils actually played a large part in the establishment of this museum.

Sharks are amazing animals in their evolution and behavior. You can see many excellent shark specimens including the oldest shark, Cladoselache about 400 million yeas ago, to a recent sand tiger shark.
About 100 specimens of the deep-sea marine life from the world have been introduced here. They are large crustaceans, mollusks and other invertebrates.
Abnormal montane brown frogs with extra legs began appearing in Kitakyushu's Yamada Green Park in 1995. Here are some of the abnormal frogs and a description of efforts to understand the cause of such malformations.
Coleoptera are the most successful animals on earth, accounting for a quarter of all known animal species. Many types of beetles are displayed here with emphasis on Scarabaeidae (chafers) and Lucanidae (stag beetles).
