“Plum-Blossom Stones” occur along the shore of Aohama, Moji Ward, Kitakyushu. Three hundred million year old crinoid fossils form the flower-like patterns on the rocks. In 1960's, the strata along the sea shore of Aohama where Plum-Blossom stones occur was designated as one of Fukuoka Prefecture's Natural Monuments.
